4,000+ Books Are Heading Into the Hands of Kids

This is what your support looks like.

Over the past few weeks, four schools and one nonprofit came to Kind Cotton and picked up more than 4,000 diverse and inclusive books to get ready for the upcoming school year.

Those books are now heading out into our community, where they’ll help make some pretty incredible moments possible.

A portion will go to the MoCo Pride Center for a back-to-school event, helping make sure LGBTQ+ kids and families have access to books where they can see themselves, their families, and their experiences represented.

Thousands more will be used to create three completely free, school-wide book fairs at elementary schools in Maryland. At these book fairs, students won't need money. They won't have to worry about whether their family can afford a book. Every child will get to browse the shelves, find a book that speaks to them, and take it home for free.

And looking at all of these books stacked on shelves and packed into bins, ready to head out the door, is a pretty incredible reminder of why we do what we do.
