Book banning is taking place all across the country and our mission here at Kind Cotton is to promote inclusive education through the books we donate.
Books help offer a look into the world of others. They create empathy. Books also affirm one’s own experience through representation. Books that act as windows, mirrors, and sliding glass doors (a termed coined by Rudine Sims Bishop) should be at focus of every home and school library and that is being stripped away in an effort to harm public education. And this isn’t only an attack on education; it’s an attack on humanity.
We created this Spring/Summer line with the hopes of putting 1,500 inclusive books into the hands of kids and to speak out in favor of education and doing what’s best for children.
