We recently hosted another FREE book fair thanks to all of your continued support and purchases.
The day was filled with happiness and gratitude. From the moment I walked through the doors and saw the beautifully decorated welcome Kind Cotton signs on the walls, I knew it was going to be a good day.
We gave away over 700 books and here are some of the key takeaways from the day:
- One teacher thanked me for having books by Asian authors because she didn’t feel represented as a child.
- Another educator grabbed a copy of Stella Brings the Family, a book about two dads to read during the week of Mother’s Day and discuss different family dynamics.
- A little boy named Bilal cheered with excitement when his friend pointed out the book, Bilal Cooks Daal.
- A girl was so excited when she found a copy of Nia Sky’s Friend on Wheels because the main character looked like her.
